Whether your car or home, the wiring, fuses/circuit breakers and more should always be designed to withstand a much greater load than it is intended to be used with. If it were designed right at the limit of the fuses and wiring gauge, then you would constantly be blowing fuses and melting wires. This doesn't happen. [ http://www.valentine1.com/v1info/pdf/manual_2012/Pg34_Specifications.pdf ] They state they require .225 typ to .425A MAX. This should not be a significant load on any existing circuit. If it is, then it is likely because the USER not Nissan has added a bunch of crap on there. I agree with someone below, that there are better circuits than others to tap off of. For instance, if you lost an accessory circuit, probably not the end of the world. Unless you're going to be wiring up some serious current drawing stuff inside the car, a new run with a junction box,etc would still indeed be huge overkill.
